But really, whose business it is anyway? But you know, Gaby Spanic was very mellow on the post-show. I imagine this role took a lot out of her.

And I think her interview was fairly "safe", too. I wanted to hear more from Spanic. I still think she is absolutely gorgeous. But I think her son is the cutest little toddler! That hair! I enjoyed your translation of some of the more obscure Mexicanismos decir pio. And, also, many thanks to Kat, Sue, Connie and Jardinera for your fine efforts on this novela. A little continuity error for me was when Gaby told Horacio in the church that he hadn't even proposed yet.

Isn't giving someone an engagement ring proposing? I liked Lucero's wedding dress. It was a direct contrast to the traditional one she wore to the church for the aborted boda with Alonso. This dress was in a sort of campesina style, with the large ruffle at the top with red ribbon woven through. To me this represented the change in Val from City Career Woman to country hacienda co-owner.

Maybe Rosendo didn't get off so easily. If he'd been killed in the mine he couldn't have been tortured by thinking of Valentina in JM's bed every night. I was OK with Leo's rehabilitation. It was quick but Jacqueline Andere made it believable. Not happy to see Shrieky apparently back in Moises good graces.

He had been working as an engineer, but followed his bliss to become an actor and was very grateful for having work at his age. The ending of this novela was as predictable as preceding episodes. I enjoyed seeing Sergio Goyri as himself.

It was such a contrast to his being Rosendo. How much longer will Lucero go on playing the ingenue? And Fernando the "young man". Probably as long as we will let them. As I often said, the recaps and the comments soothed my nerves, frustration, anxiety and misunderstandings throughout this profound experience.

I could not have survived without all of you. Thank you so very much!!!!! I also thought the ending was a bit rushed. Rosendo started to train the police force in marksmanship after receiving a prosthesis and plastic surgery, Prozac and Abilify and intense rehab and counseling and became a champion online Scrabble player!

I will miss all these characters. I was too anxious last night to get a grip on how I was feeling. I really feel bad for Leonora and found her last scenes very touching.

I felt so bad for Alonso, and no one thanked him for basically saving Val and JM. He actually looked cute when he made his announcement to honor the bride and groom. Val looked gorgeous, although I did not think her hairdo did her justice. JM is so gorgeous and his smile is amazing! I actually blushed also with the strawberry scene. It was very sensuous but made me a bit uncomfortable, since I have such a crush on him.

Like I didn't want to see him doing that with someone else! What a nut case I've become! I only really like the scenes when JM is alone I just like looking at him.

I just had such affection for all the characters at the end, like I did for my 11th grade students at the end of the school year, and even more so for the ones who drove me crazy all year! And I felt sad about Ivana, and really felt moved wthn Leonara took Federico's photo and spoke to him. She was so burdened by conflit and guilt, it seems, her entired married life. The interviews afterward were really cool but I had a hard time understanding them.

I know this sounds sacriligous, but I actually found Sergio Goyri very attractive and I wanted to get to know him. He seens very nice, I guess becuase all the characters he plays are so authentically villainous. He is really fabulous! I have this fantasy that some of the US filmakers would ask some of the actors and actresses of STuD to appear in some American films. How cool would that be?

So, I really have a lump in my throat when I think that I will not have my TN family to look forward to each weekday anymore. I, too, hope to see them again soon in a TN. I like one of the comments about the kind of role FC might have in his South American project, if I understook the comment correctly.

But my strategy paid off by involving myself in Eva Luna. At least I have a "fill in" during my "mourning" period. By the way, Shivah will be at my house this evening if anyone would like to attend!

You'll find me on Eva Luna recaps and on Triunfo recaps. I would LOVE to be a recapper, but I do not possess the "snarkiness", talent and skills that all of you dear dear recappers possess.

As always, thanks for the nice comments; you don't know how motivating that is when you're plowing through a recap!

I have a few more thoughts on the novela, but I'll post those later. I'm sorry I didn't cover more of the behind-the-scenes special, but it was all so predictable. Bonus points when he kissed the ditzy interviewer and smeared her with it.

FC did seem uncomfortable during that interview, probably because he knew the host was going to pry into his personal life. Really, why bother asking him about his private life if he doesn't like to talk about it?

That's why I always enjoyed watching him on Cristina, she didn't ask him those stupid questions. He was very cute with Lucero, they obviously have a great real-life rapport. I really hope to see them again as a couple, hopefully in a slightly less stupid novela. But I do wonder about that next project possibly filming in South America.

I hope it's not another period novela. I know I'm in the minority here, but I just can't get over the Ren-faire costumes, stringy wigs and bad facial hair. It was ridiculous in FELS, a 50 year old virgin. MEPS was a little far out age wise, remember the quarterback scene? Very much looking foward to Triunfo. My same dear friend has recommended it, and William Levy IS rather hunky, but you know And FC's character was a young man but not "the young man" Jose Miguel had lived life. I doubt seriously JM was a virgin the way he was immediately trying to paw on Val from the moment he saw her.

Um, ok. I agree with the other poster, I liked Val's wedding dress. The first one was all princess bride in the designer dress, befitting a rich city girl with a high powered job. The only "friend" Rosie has in jail is that wooden carving of Val. I loved that nobody was thinking about Ivana at the wedding or the baptism. Also loved that the girl twin was not named after Ivana, although I thought the boy twin would have been named after Val's dad Federico Rogelio instead of Jose Federico.

What a fantastic job you've all done and with such wit and style. Really, they should hire all of you as writers and these shows would be a lot better. I thought it was a rushed ending too and I've been waiting to see what all of you thought. Since they were adding episodes right and left, why not add a bunch to the end? It makes no sense to me, they could have resurrected a few characters at a time, Shrieky and Leonor for starters. I wish I had seen the recap interviews.

I'm so impressed with SG, what an actor. I'd love to see an interview with him as himself. Maybe on youtube. What fun you all are, I love the comments as much as the recaps and I'll definitely be around just to read about TDA.

And I, too, would vote for Sergio in a movie in the states! Can someone explain whether it was just the TN running out of time that there was no wedding reception, or is the reception just an American thing? I don't know about Lucero, but I'm sure Colunga's English is either non-existent or terrible.

It was funny when he was playing a guy who went to Harvard in MEPS and the few times he said a word in English, his accent was awful. He probably doesn't want to do anything unless he can do it well. I certainly would be happy to teach him, no matter HOW long it takes.

For each TN he does, he just needs to change the actors, the story is always the same. Lucero's dress was so beautiful. Sergio Goyri started to grow on me this year. It's time to watch his older shows. It's a pleasure to hear him speaking and it's easy to recap his scenes. I don't know much about Sortilegio, to my knowledge Televisa hasn't announced it's ratings officially, but people say it had 26,1 points. However, it had wonderful success all around the world.

Since La usurpadora Gaby Spanic and Fernando have tons of fans in my country and Zone Romantica our Univision has never experienced such high ratings.

I think FC will get one young role. Maybe two. Lucy Orozco, the producer of Ramona, Teresa, El pecado de Oyuki will return to Televisa after 10 years, hopefully she'll bring fresh air to Telenovelaland and will offer great roles to our favourite ladies and gentlemen.

You are all so totally right. So I guess I really AM lovestruck! I loved Val's dress Died laughing on the weeding car and was pretty much content with the way everything turned out. I must agree that the end did seem rushed but that seems to be the norm from the shows that i've seen. From watching the TN's and the little bit of spanish in the 6th grade a life time ago I can read it and to some degree understand someone speaking it but cant get the hang of speaking it without someone to practice with so, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Carlos, you might have noticed it. Sandi was wearing the the strapless green and copper dress worn by Monita in Gancho and Alejandra in Dinero. It didn't do much for Sandi and they only showed it briefly. So far Alejandra Itati has looked the best in that dress, which is a really hard dress to pull off with those colors and its shape. I thought it strange that Sandi and Felipe didn't have a baby by two years later, since they got married first. But perhaps they are practicing safe sex heaven forbid in a novela!

It would have been nice to see them finally united with his sister and sick parents like he planned. Oh well! At least we will continue to see "Sandi" in those Toyota Carolla commercials where the girls get dropped off by the guy and ask them if they want to come up.

It was wonderful and filled with lol gems. Too many to quote them all! Also appreciated the rundown on the interview show. OK, Lourdes, we know Cristina and you're no Cristina.

Thanks to all the recappers and commenters for keeping us going when the always selfish Ivana pushed the other characters aside. What a relief she was gone before the wedding. Don't know if those mariachi were the same ones Val shot at.

If so, they aren't the only ones to forgive her. There needs to be a lot of forgiveness rolling around the streets of San Pedro as Val transforms into the duena of the countryside. Speaking of musical groups, I regret the Mexi-Greek chorus falling by the wayside. I liked them as a stylized device and fresh touch. Val's wedding dress fit her new "country" persona, but I didn't care for her hair ornament.

I'm angry that Timo has no more respect for Lumi's patrona than to wear the silly tee shirt to the wedding. The two dowagers walking arm in arm down the aisle--hard to believe they could do it civilly. OK, rockin' wedding night in the cabana.

I felt embarrassed for the strawberry, but happy for our two lovers. More follow up for the other couples would have been nice. Guess we have to fill in the blanks with our imaginations.

Anonymous said "The only "friend" Rosie has in jail is that wooden carving of Val," which made me think of Tom Hank's volleyball in Castaway. I can see Rosendo slowly going mad, talking to his wooden leg. Which seemed rather unbelievable, but what do I know about prosthestic legs for prison inmates?

I'm ROFL from them leaving in that hoopty as their wedding car and being stranded on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck priceless and too funny: Thank you Genelia and all the other recappers for recapping this novela it's been more fun than the show itself.

Genelia, you captured the Fin episode so well. I dreamt about strawberries and the theme songs last night, which lets you know what the highlights were for me. I enjoyed the wedding scene but like others felt disappointed that more of the supporting actors weren't included to re-up their storylines. I almost fell out of my chair when Peg Leg Rosendo hobbled onto the screen!

He was more hilarious than scary. I wish our recappers and commenters could have written the final as I know it would have been an improvement. I'd like to take this moment to wish the Caray, Caray community a healthy and peaceful New Year. Thanks for the al the laughs and feel good moments. Do they repeat the whole thing? Lots of you have commented on your favorite TNs and I'd like to keep an eye out for them in case they're repeated.

Is it worth it? Seems telefurtura is the Uni rerun station. I'll be sure to keep my eye on Telefutura. I'm especially intersted in seeing Pasion, which has been mentioned quite a few times as being a favorite. And what could be better than pirates? I think that's my favorite FC novela.

There was such a range in his character. Having grown up as a bastard, Manuel was very touchy and easy to anger. I'd like to see them again. There were 2 discs, great you say since you watch both sides. I wanted more story. In one scene you see Manuel sitting at the dinner table, next scene Manuel is sitting at the dinner table, only he has on different clothes.

Worst butcher job I have ever seen. And hey, those DVDs look cool on my shelves. If one has enough patience and free space on the hard drive, then most telenovelas are available on the internet.

Except very rare gems. For example, I desperately want the original, Spanish version of Yo compro esa mujer. Variopinta: You're lucky.

I discovered FC in Esmeralda twelve years ago and I had to watch him in La usurpadora which I loved btw, but it's too dumb , Abrazame muy fuerte and Maria la del Horror for years By the time he made his first high quality telenovela Amor real my fangirl phase had been gone with the wind.

However, they are quality telenovelas, and Amor real is one of the bests of the decade. Any opinion on that telenovela? They did not show the reception but went in to the 2 years later time slip.

That dude with the funny shirt was a big question mark to me. I only saw a hanful ofepisodes so I don't know if that guy was supposed to be comic relief or not. Amor Real,Alborada and Pasion are my favorites. I wished I was there to see the first run of all of them. Saw Amor Real last year in telefutura. I first 'discovered' TN's when I was flicking channels and saw a period setting with 18th century clothing and I realized it was a series so I started watching.

Unfortunately it was in the last week then the Grand Final. FELS was my first full novela and I really liked it. I know I'm the only one who did and that's ok. Lots of hot babes like Rosario, Ruth the 3 sisters , Dra. Hotlips and all the girls. And here we are. I just could not follow this beginning to end. It bored me for while despite seeing Lucero. But I caught the last week. I really don't know how any actor that appears in a Mejia TN succeeds.

I was very upset that Wm Levy agreed to Triunfo, after a good job in Sortilegio. But hey FC is doing fine. Permalink posted by Variopinta : Tuesday, December 28, at PM EST Just wanted to say what a great job all of the recappers and commenters have done during this whole thing. The write-ups were always way more interesting than most of the episodes.

Although it was pretty, I thought it was entirely inappropriate to wear in a church. Not so in this script. Is that how it is done south of the border or is that just something done in this TN? I loved the behind-the-scenes show and especially shots of the sets and how things were filmed. I really liked the part where FC and SG worked hard on a fight scene and then shook hands after the director said cut. Too cool. I also thought GS was really cute in the post-game interviews.

Good luck with the next TNs that you guys end up watching. The main heroine's name was Laura. I've been wondering which one that was. But that's probably too little to go one. Sorry to have hijacked the comments from STuD. I feel guilty so I'm going to make another comment: Was surprised that Rosendo's end went the way of Barbara Greco. I really did think he was going to die.

Not end up incarcerated after being incinerated. William and Maite are also young, so I'm not worried about them. Ha, ha. Is that because it was a remake? Why the ratings here in the States? Is that because we are tired of Victor Newman and the Young and the Brainless? There is a lot of criticism of his Cuban accent. I guess it is sth like someone from Brooklyn trying to play a southern belle. We even discussed on one of the shows like MEPs and Sorti that they must have a shortage of writers being creative and instead recycle stories.

I think I was the one that questioned why they do this. I can tell if it is Spaniard's spanish and Columbian spanish. Columbian spanish is fast and sing songy.

A little harder to understand. Amor Real and Alborada are tied for first place with me. Pasion and Corazon Salvaje are tied for second place. I suppose Zorro and Dona Barbara tie for third. My favorite actors are FC and Eduardo Yanez. FC reminds me of my dad , and Big Ed reminds me of my hubby. My favorite actresses are Adela Noriego and Lucero. To each, his own, verdad? I hope that Alborada is rerun sometime soon and that Carla Estrada and Monica Miguel team up for another historical novela.

La duena was just as naive as STD, but by that time it was a fresh story, and the directing was fantastic. Because of Lucero, FC and because it's a ranchero telenovela. Many people including me have a thing for rancheros. Right now I don't have much idea about the Spanish accents. For me WL sounds fine. I agree. And she's also looking for a new Adela or Lucero. I have a feeling she's in a crisis nowadays. She hasn't made a box office telenovela since Amor real, and Alborada was her last real critical success.

Destilando Amor gave us a very good insight to the tequila industry, again with some google. Makes me crazy, woman embarazada, baby taken away, crying, mi hija, woman finds the love of her life, him too, everyone tries to sabatage the romance including the lovers, more crying, make up again etc et etc, wedding, kids happily ever after Can't they think of anything new?.

It's called La Verdad Oculta also a remake and it's on at midnight. I want to see Ramona too. I guess this year's Corazon Salvaje is ranked last among my period TNs. But I like it too. Last year, I asked the veterans here what they considered the best ever TN and the overwhelming majority said Amor Real and Alborada. And I agree competely. Great story, acting, plot, costumes.

It was on at 8 am on Telefutura. All of the recappers have been phenomenal. Muchas gracias a todos. It's amusing that some or many of us were so affected by the strawberry scene.

Honestly, I didn't see it all blush - will replay it tonight. Also wish Federico had been around longer. This is the 1st Sergio Goyri role I could past get his villainy and enjoy his acting.

Teresita was so adorable, Chuy, too. I couldn't abide Santi. I couldn't believe the interviewer from Univision, no less! Does she live under a rock?? He never answers those questions. It made the whole thing seem awkward and uncomfortable. I miss Cristina! Don't know that Triunfo will keep my interest.

I'm dragging out my full length version of Alborada to watch. Hotter than a Texas summer, I'd say. So of course, any drama is going to do well. Now my one comment for the show did anyone have a problem with the cameraman failing to keep Sergio's bent leg out of the shot when he was standing there pretending to be an amputee with a wooden leg?

Yes, FC can speak english. I bet he can probably speak better english than I can spanish. I had no problem with FC deflecting the personal questions by changing the subject in the special interview with Lourdes Estefan. He often deflected the personal question that Cristina snuck into the interview on her show by laughter.

And after CS it must've been like fresh air. OT Variopinta: I usually agree with people who look for quality in movies and shows but when it comes to telenovelas, especially the ones of Televisa, we're on a strange field Because: Makes me crazy [ It depends on the writer and the producer whose job is to balance these elements whether their product will be good or bad.

CS93 or La otra or Amor real or whatever were good. I watch telenovelas for the melodrama, the actors and the language. And if it offers something more I'm grateful for that. Like La verdad oculta which was a very pleasant surprise. Thanks Univision for the 4 year delay and the midnight timeslot. Even though I didn't always comment because I usually watched days later I believe I read every single recap and watched nearly every episode of this TN.

The recaps were also terrific and the show, though kinda stoopid, was very enjoyable for me. Add me to the list of those who love and own Amor Real and Alaborada.

I also give Pasion extra bonus points for turning FC into a pirate Thanks to all the recappers and commenters who contributed to the STuDly experience!! Those were good times Mauricio Cordova Mariana Carr I was watching the new HD release of "Wild Things" when who should appear in full partially-clad studliness but Edward Yanez!! I thought, "hey, there's susanlynn's boyfriend and he's boinking somebody else's mom, the nerve!

I can't recommend the movie except for the opportunity to see EY on a nice, big 60" HD screen. I think they used special effects to erase the bent leg and make the stump believable. I only watcthed this show with one eye. FELS two eyes, MEPS, two eyes, CS, no eyes and even though I didn't always dive into the comment threads I want to express my appreciation for the hard work and laughs, and for keeping me up on the action I liked the interview show though Lucero and Colunga were almost too professionalo in playing their "parts" as actors for the public.

It must be huge, they are seen though the whole world and have to carefully guard their image to the fans. I look forward to trying out Triunfo. Would you beleive that last night I was sorting through some old VHS tapes and I had a recording of a one hour special from the end of EPDA which featured interviews and some 'best of' scenes. So I'm geeked out and ready for the re-make, but with trepidation because I get the "circo" reputation of Mejia.

Permalink posted by randy sea. That is some kind of wonderful. I appreciate your loyalty. It's funny how connected you can start to feel to people you chat with about a novela. The other day, I thought about Carlos as I made my corn pudding for Christmas. I think it's time for me to see if Liz Vega is still dancing her little heart out on youtube. We've shared some good times, no? Susanlynn -- speaking of Marcelo Cordoba. I just saw a promo for Mar de Amor on Univision, guess what?

He plays the rival of Mario Cimarro's character. The telenovela airs in the afternoons. Rosendo gets to spend eternity in lockup with his peg leg for company, with the knowledge that his son is enjoying Val's love. And Ivana the attention whore is dead, gone and forgotten. I guess Leo figured if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em. Alonso's punishment was to lose Val. He could have been enjoying Val's love but threw her away for lust and greed. The secondary characters didn't get their punishments, and that's where I have a problem.

He beat down JM and was Rosie's accessory in a bunch of his crimes. I guess helping the Scooby gang search for Val was his redemption? What did Shrieky do to get back in Moises' good graces? Moises' main problem with Shrieky was her problem with Flippy. We haven't seen her be nice to Flippy, ever. Flippy: he should have been punished for lying about Ivana.

Why were they not shunned by the rest of San Pedro?
