I'm pretty sure I first heard about Vocaloid while I was in high school. I guess I was 14 or 15 if my math is correct. I started getting way into it my junior and senior year like actually learning about it and getting into the UTAU community as opposed to being just a hyper casual listener and was hardcore into it and UTAU by the time I started college.
I'm 24 now if you need a comparison of sorts. I read all of your posts and they all are intresting Most of them were like " I heard about this when I was 10" Aaahhhhhh we are not getting any younger! I'm 22 tho. Man I think my girlfriend LunarConstruct showed it to me sometime in my 7th grade year She ran it for a few years after I moved away, and then late into my 8th grade year I got back into it a little bit.
I'm sorta off-and-on when it comes to UTAU. I'm 17 and about to graduate high school now for a comparison. I'm still pretty off-and-on. Reactions: luiysia. I just heard somewhere? It was and I was 13 back then. I really liked back then her I didn't expect that she would sound so smooth and understandable! I did want to know them all and I did read Vocaloid Wiki article of all Vocaloids, listened every of them and I liked every Vocaloid less or more.
Hahah, I was really in. I first time heard Kasane Teto in because triple baka. But I didn't get interested in UTAU in that point because people did comment about Teto that "she's not a Vocaloid" "She's not good because she isn't a Vocaloid" and so on.
And boom! Oh gosh here we go I'm pretty sure I started learning about Vocaloid in , either that or late its kinda blurry lmao I found it accidentally actually, I was looking at Touhou videos on youtube and found this video. Went through that whole "ooooh I wanna watch the Vocaloid anime" phase for a little and then realized what it actually was!
I'd wanted to make an UTAU for a while since I figured out what they were, but couldn't quite figure out how until late , which is when i released my first UTAU who is garbage dumpster fire and should be deleted from the planet I was probably 11ish when I found Vocaloid, and i was 12 when I made my first UTAU. I'm 17 now, turning 18, and it's been a great ride so far!!! PrinceofHades A wandering soul Defender of Defoko.
I don't remember. But because I wanted to use Miku to create songs and I couldn't afford it I didn't follow up with the Vocaloid. Flash forward to two years ago: I rediscovered Vocaloid via I fell in love with the song Jitter Doll, and while looking for a subbed version, I found Kyaami's cover with Ritsu. And now you are never getting rid of me, I am here forever!
However, Crypton's final announcement was that they were neither siblings nor lovers. During Append production, Wataru Sasaki aka. Wat described them as having one soul between the two of them.
Wat also described that the Append boxart makes the pair seem like twins, due to the fetal position they were in. When the Kagamines were being recorded in , their names had not yet been decided. Their given names of Rin and Len were said to be based on "right" and "left" according to Asami Shimoda. She later confirmed in an interview after the Append release that the names were based on Ken and Rin from Hokuto no Ken, derived from a discussion about names that were familiar from her childhood.
As of 31 August , Crypton Future Media will be moving Rin and their other characters over to their own synthesizer program, Piapro Studio. Initially, it was reported that their package sold 20, units. This was half the amount that the Hatsune Miku product before them sold. Usually, the Kagamine package managed to get the 2nd place spot, pushing Luka to 3rd place.
Their Append outsold the Miku Append package during the period after their release. The Act2 package and Append secured 4th and 5th spot between them in Crypton's end of year top 10 VOCALOID sales despite only being available for a short period of time mostly owed, but not entirely, to pre-orders. When the charts resumed some form of order, the Kagamines were left in the 5th or 6th spot, leaving them overall more popular than Luka by MEIKO V3 's release in Their Append had not been sighted for months and was by now completely off the charts.
The sales were based on acquired sales through pre-orders and sales for just 6 days. The Kagamines were slow to gain popularity in the Japanese fandom after the backlash from their original voicebanks.
In later years, although they gained the second-highest number of songs, they were not as popular as Hatsune Miku. By the time of their V4x release, the duo had over hit songs between them. The majority of Japanese producers purchasing their package use Rin, wither having up to half of Len's popularity on top of her own popularity levels.
Rin herself will also at times lose popularity to Megurine Luka, though due to Rin's popularity being boosted by Len, Luka does not always maintain it. Their designs spawned many producer-based derivatives. The Kagamines, however, managed to gain enough views to not fall into this category. Rin received 2, uploads while Len received 2, When sorted by average, Len was third with The Kagamine package was ranked the 3rd most popular illegal of the singular package downloads with 4, downloads.
