Running steam as Administrator made no difference. ScummVM runs a console first, and then runs the game. I am thinking that Steam is detecting that as the desktop and dropping to the default controller config. Last edited by questinghero ; 12 Nov, am. Dosbox games seem to have the same issue.
Nypyren View Profile View Posts. I had a few problems with Diablo 3. It would work for the most part unless I tried to tweak the configuration. After exiting the steam overlay it would have a heck of a time trying to return focus to the game.
I think it was confused by Diablo 3's launcher or something. I found a "fix" for Dosbox games. Hope this helps someone. I now have ScummVM working ish. ScummVM 1. Guide Index. Greetings, the name's Craig. Somehow you found this guide, despite the "game" in question not existing. In fact it's about Steam itself! Regardless of that, I'm here to share some useful information if you enjoy playing Non-Steam Games more than Steam Games.
However, it could be tricky to set up and even use on Non-Steam Games, as things will have to be tweaked and such. This guide will hopefully help you with that. If you've read through the entire guide and somehow nothing here helps you out at all, I apologize. And please don't comment about needing help, I'm unable to do much else outside of this guide. This should include games such as Minecraft and Overwatch, to throw a few popular names out there.
This method is assuming you're not using the "Big Picture Mode". Click the "Games" tab on the top-left side of your Steam Client. If it's not shown on the list, click "browse" and search for it.
Use quotes and stay safe. Change the icon being used, if desired. To do this, either find a suitable icon with google search and download it, or find where your program stores it's icon at and use that.
Search for the icon online. This is simpler, and recommended. Download a program that strips icon images from. You will have full access to all Steam client features, including in-game overlay complete with music player, web browser, IMs, friends list, the works. You will also get the steam FPS overlay in-game should you enable it in the Steam settings.
Also, you get the added advantage of people on your friends list seeing what game you're playing, even if it's not a Steam game, provided you named the shortcut in Steam properly.
