Antivirus engine is not initialized comodo

The Comodo anti-virus engine fails to initialise - so you are unprotected and you don't know it. Only Windows Security Alerts tells you about this - a little red shield at the bottom rhs of the screen ; in amongst all the other coloured stuff that "has" to be there such as the red BBC iplayer icon, the red tom-tom icon, so it is easily overlooked. What additional info can I provide? The diagnostics utility did not find any problem with my install. Have you rebooted, rerun the CIS installer, reboot? I uninstalled and reinstalled. This time it appears to work. I don't recall reading that anywhere.

Thanks for your help. I get a bit scared when it comes to things like safe mode etc. I still get the message 'antivirus engine not initialised' Any ideas? This "safe-mode" won't cause trouble, it will just start your system with a minimal driver set enabled so nothing can interfere with the system. No joy, but I'll keep trying - doing another re-install. All rights reserved.
