It is a low end card with few features. You can't adjust bass and treble like on some higher priced cards. It is not an all hardware based card but with today's processors you will not notice this. Overall Review: After installing you must go to sound properties and set the card at 24 bit, default is 16 bit. Big sound from a small card. Price to value is excellent. I gave it 5 stars because I think this is the best you can get at this price.
As for their support, I had to deal with Creative on rebate issues and they were great in my case. Responded quick and helped with my problem. Windows due to all the copyright protections systems has taken many features away from us. Since Vista PC sound has gone downhill. XP still rules for sound. Thanks IP lobbyist and lawyers, parasites. Pros: Much better than any on board sound. Awesome with Stereo headphones. Easy Install under Win7 64 bit. Decent EAX quality. Small footprint, doesn't produce a lot of heat.
Crisp clear sound, Hit's the deep base as well as the highs. Cons: Um yeah tried for the last year to get 7. This card emulates only, it is not a true 7. Creative support told me this card does not even support 4.
They tried to sell me some hook up that would work. If anyone says that 7. They should have a class action started on them for false advertising OH Wait they already do.
Overall Review: I remember when creative wrote the best sound drivers on the market and had the best support. Since around it seems like they did a nose dive and their profit shares show it. But their ideology and stubborn business tactics have given them a poor reputation among the Sound community. Be advised you probably will not get good support from Creative unless you spend a boat load of money on their products.
I think Their call center is ordered not to give support to anyone that doesn't buy a high end sound card. You'll have to really on forums and the sound community to help.
Overall Review: Upgraded to Vista. My Soundblaster "Live" was no longer supported. Needed a good cheap sound card. This one fit the bill perfectly. New Egg Rocks!!!!!! Pros: Purchased this to replace a Rocketfish that crapped out. Produces more volume and quality. Overall Review: Tried to use a cheap brand And very happy to have bought this.
Cons: The outputs are somewhat deceptive. I wanted to use one of the secondary outputs for my TV but it seems they are only for use in multichannel speaker setups. Not a big deal i just grabbed a splitter. Not sure if it there is a way to configure them to just be standard audio out ports but it was not obvious in the software so I opted for the simple solution. Pros: All I can say Wow. I do not know if it was my impressions that sounds cards were better, but I have used on board until now.
It may be just me wanting to believe it, but I think that my sound quality has improved! It is a cheap card at that. Well worth it, but my next purchase will be the X-Fi XtremeGamer or XtremeMusic as the server board I am using does not support on board sound.
